Spiritual destroyers – False Pastrors, Teachers, Prophets, Apostels, etc. Part 2

Jude 1:8-10 (ESVST)
Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. 9 But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” 10 But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.

Jude is saying in verse 8 above, the reason he is reminding us of these things is that, in the same way as the Israelites, the angels and the people of Sodom and Gomorrah disobeyed God, these people, these men, whom we still don’t know yet, also disobey God. They do four things
1) They rely on their dreams ( dreams also include visions, revelations, etc)
2) They defile the flesh ( this refers to sexual immorality and unnatural lust)
3) They reject authority
4) They blaspheme the glorious ones (now it is not clear what glorious ones refer to but, it is save to say that it refers to angels because of verse 9-10.

In our last message, we discussed in detail the first item on the list of what the men mentioned in Jude 1:4 do to the children of God. Now let’s is look at the second one
2) They defile the flesh ( this refers to sexual immorality and unnatural lust)
Sexual immorality is a broad term encompassing all sexually related acts that are a sin in the eyes of God. Sins like adultery and homosexuality. Jude mentions Sodom and Gomorrah and we know that these places were burned because of their excessive sexually immoral acts. Homosexuality in Sodom and Gomorrah had reached a peak to the extent that, they even wanted to rape holy angels and God could not stand their immorality anymore and destroyed the city. I know some will ask but, how do you know they wanted to rape Angels. Well let’s look at Genesis 19:

Genesis 19:1-11 (NIV)
Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed
1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2 “My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”
“No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”
3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom —both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”
6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”
9 “Get out of our way,” they replied. “This fellow came here as a foreigner, and now he wants to play the judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.
10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. 11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.
This is indisputable evidence. Lot even offered these men his own daughters who were still virgins and these men refused. They wanted the holy angels. I think Lot was stupid to offer his daughters but that is what he did. Their sexual rage with other men was almost turned into madness. It had reached an unacceptable levels in the eyes of God and God destroyed the city.

Romans 1:26-27 (NIV)
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Again here Paul refers to exactly what was happening in Sodom and Gomorrah. Here Paul indicates that not only men were sleeping with men but woman were sleeping with women too. It is however not only homosexuality but, these sexually immoral sins include adultery.
Now these men that Jude is talking about, will not only commit these sexually immoral and unnatural lusts but will also deceive and convince people to do the same. They will convince everyone that these acts are acceptable and the society must allow people to express themselves. The third one is:
3) They reject authority

These men reject all form of authority. They reject God’s authority and they reject the scriptures. They will deceive people to obey false Gods and they will twist and use the scriptures to further their own evil  desires and intentions. They will reject all forms of moral code and replace it with immorality. They will start up rights groups that defend the rights of those that want to commit immoral sins. They will question all sense of righteousness and replace it with evilness and immorality.
4) They blaspheme the glorious ones

These people curse also angels. Verse 9 -10 of Jude says that even when Michael fighting with the devil over Moses’s body, Michael never cursed the devil, instead He said, ” The Lord rebuke you”. Now even angels don’t curse each other but these people curse angels.
