Verse of the weekend

1 John 2:15-16 (ESVST)
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world — the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life — is not from the Father but is from the world.
Everything and anything that this world can offer you is only temporary or short lived. Make no mistake, this world is under the control of the devil and he will use its riches to prevent you from accessing the grace that God has provided for us. Some may argue why I am saying that the devil rules the earth. Well, do you remember this verse:
Matthew 4:8-9 (ESVST)
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to him, “ All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”
If the world did not belong to the devil, he could not have promised to give everything to Jesus. It is the same tactic he is using on all of us.
The above verse indicates clearly that if you love the world, then the love of the Father is not in you. If you love the world, you cannot love God, and the love of God cannot be in you.
The above verse tells us that the things that are in the world are:

1) the desires of the flesh
2) the desires of the eyes
3) pride of life
These thing are not from God as the verse says but it is from the world ruled by the devil. This is so true. Does anyone of those listed above sound familiar in your life? If no, God bless you but if yes, then you and I needs to turn back to The Lord, have faith and repent from our sins and start to live a life worthy of being adopted and called the sons of God.
God bless all of you and have a good weekend.
